Turkish demo condemns ‘Friends of Syria’ meeting in Istanbul

Turkish activists have held a demonstration in front of the US Embassy in the capital, Ankara, to condemn the meeting of the “Friends of Syria” group held in Istanbul,Press TV reports.
The Sunday demonstration was organized by the 'Ankara Unity against NATO and Missile Shield organization,' which opposes the deployment of a NATO radar system in Turkey.
Nursel Guvendir, one of the demonstration organizers, read out a statement saying, “Those countries participating in the Istanbul meeting today as ‘Syria’s friends’ are in fact accelerating their preparations for a war against the Syrian nation and bloodshed in the Middle East for their own interests.”
Demonstrators also stated that the countries participating in the Istanbul meeting are “enemies of Syria.”
Turkey hosted the second “Friends of Syria” meeting in Istanbul on Sunday. The first meeting of the group was held in Tunisia on February 24.
